1. Overview
This policy explains how Anansekrom Heritage Foundation uses cookies and similar browser technologies on anansekrom.org. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
Current position: the website does not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, social-media pixels or cross-site tracking. It uses cookie-free Vercel Web Analytics for anonymous aggregate traffic measurement. The only first-party cookie set by the website records that you have seen and saved the privacy choice.
2. What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text value a website asks a browser to store. Similar technologies include local storage, software development kits, tracking pixels and scripts that read or write information on a device. Some are required for a service to work; others require a freely given choice before activation.
Necessary technology may be used without optional consent where it is essential to deliver a service, secure the website or remember a privacy request. Any non-essential technology must remain off until the visitor makes an informed, affirmative choice.

We do not currently write optional preferences to local storage or session storage. Vercel may process network and request information to deliver and protect the site and provide anonymous aggregate Web Analytics. These processes do not place an analytics cookie and are described in the Privacy Policy.

The preference centre accurately shows inactive cookie categories as unavailable. Cookie-free Vercel Web Analytics is disclosed here and in the Privacy Policy but is not presented as an optional cookie because it does not store or read an analytics identifier on the visitor’s device. If an optional service is introduced, it will be named here with its provider, purpose and duration, remain blocked by default, and be activated only after the relevant choice.
5. How to manage your choice
On a first visit, the cookie notice explains the current necessary-only position. Selecting “Continue with necessary only” stores the consent record for six months so that the notice does not reappear on every page.
You can reopen the preference centre at any time using Cookie settings in the website footer. You can also delete the cookie through your browser controls. Clearing cookies, using a different browser or device, or a material change to our storage practices may cause the notice to appear again.
If optional categories are introduced, rejecting them will be as easy and prominent as accepting them. Optional scripts will not load before consent, pre-ticked choices will not be used, and withdrawing consent will stop future optional access from this website.
6. External websites and third-party services
Vercel hosts and delivers this website and provides its cookie-free Web Analytics. Links to Google Maps, Instagram, research sources, SendGrid-hosted email functions or a future donation provider take you to services controlled by other organisations. Those services may set their own cookies after you leave Anansekrom’s website or interact with their content. Review their notices and browser controls directly.
We do not currently embed social-media feeds, maps, videos or third-party advertising frames that set optional cookies merely by loading an Anansekrom page.
7. Changes and contact
We review this inventory when technology or providers change. A material change will update the date on this page and, where required, reset the stored policy version so that visitors can make a new choice.
